Joy Rasmussen

About

Joy Rasmussen, a native of Los Angeles, has over 20 years directing and leading sales and marketing teams for the hospitality industry. She was proud to receive her real estate license in 2003 and has fulfilled many dreams of visitors and residents who choose to live and invest in Steamboat.  

As a former owner at Colorado Group Realty, her past residential experience qualified her as a top producer in Steamboat from 2003 to 2012. From 2012 onward she has specialized in commercial real estate for investors primarily on the Front Range. Her focus is self storage, mobile home parks, shopping centers and syndication of partnerships.

Rasmussen’s top accreditations include Graduate, Realtor Institute, Certified Residential Specialist and Certified Negotiation Expert. A member of the Steamboat Springs Board of Realtors and Colorado Board of Realtors, she has represented developers and multi-use projects throughout Steamboat from inception to market.

Joy’s passion is the sport of triathlon and is the founder of the Steamboat Triathlon held annually in August. She is the past President of USA Triathlon, Rocky Mountain Region, has USA Triathlon certifications as a coach for youth and adults, is a certified USAT Race Director and as a competitor, she has competed in over 60 triathlons, culminating in the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii. She has the distinction of “All American” for many years ranking her at the top 10% of her age group nationally.

She resides in the summer in Clark, Colorado and Steamboat in the winter with her husband, Ken Otterman, and her running partners Radar and Hombre.
